New eight week teaching blocks in the Faculty of Business and IT

We believe that engaging more people in tertiary education in South Auckland requires re-thinking how we teach to better suit modern student needs. Under our new model, business and IT students will study two papers within an eight week block, instead of the traditional format of four papers delivered simultaneously over a 17 week semester.

Daniel Mataafa, from rugby to nursing

"For me as an Islander, nursing is a natural thing. We most definitely need more Pacific males in nursing," – Daniel Mataafa, MIT Bachelor of Nursing graduate. For many young Pacific men, nursing isn't a career they consider. But after an injury side-lined his rugby aspirations, Daniel Mataafa is graduating with a Bachelor of Nursing from MIT. He now wants to encourage others men to give it a go.
